Grant hill would have been a top 15 player ever I'd it wasnt for injury he was a 24 6 and 5 guy and could guard 4 positions.. dude was beyond special

One of those games that always seemed fishy. Officiated differently than every other game that season. Duke shoots 26 free throws, Purdue, 5.

Seems like Purdue was tight mostly all game. Like they were playing Duke’s legacy rather than the team on the court. Purdue had the better team, but Duke was Duke. Again.

This might be the best of these old uploads I’ve seen. The resolution and timing on cutting out the commercials were both top notch. I also enjoyed the nostalgia of keeping the studio segments. Well done.

As a North Carolina fan. I loved Grant HIll. Top 10 best SF ever. So great and would have been carried to the Hall of fame on a float.

I was at this game! When Duke took that t/o after PU went up 10, K spent the entire t/o almost at mid-court staring down the refs. He never went in the huddle. The game turned totally after that. Someone else mentioned that Collins and Martin now coach NW and Cal respectively. Capel is an assistant at Duke again and Brandon Brantley is now an assistant at PU and Linc Darner is the coach at Wisky Green Bay. Pretty amazing. Oh, and Matt Waddell is NOT a stiff. He was a really good player and also went to pharmacy school and i think is now an exec with Lilly.

Great team effort by Duke. Parks, Lang and Capel stepped up tremendously when Grant Hill got his 4th foul. That was a heroically good Purdue team that they beat.

been watching basketball since 82 and talent wise this maybe the worst Duke team I've seen but the greatness of hill & his outstanding overall game was able to compensate for everything Duke lacked. this is a perfect example of why hill was so such a great player. we only got prime hill for 6 years but how he was able to reinvent himself after the injuries & reinvent himself into a effective defensive stopper/point forward. that's still enough for me to call him one of the 10 greatest sf's ever.

yes, but he would've graduated Duke in 93 and never would've been on that 94 team anyway.

this team had chemistry and they knew which way their water was flowing. probably why they finshed first in the ACC regular season

Billy McCaffrey was in the class of 93.

They couldn't go but 8 players, but they were a tough "team." I wonder how good they would have been with Billy McCaffery.

The difference between Grant and Robinson is about the same as the difference between Lebron and Carmelo.  Both are great but Grant is way more well-rounded.  He really made it hard for Big Dawg to find his groove, meanwhile completely controlled the flow of the game on offense.  Hill's court vision and playmaking was outstanding.

Keep in mind, Robinson was suffering from a strained back from the previous game against Kansas.

@timsmith1033 Thank you. It's awesome to hear someone else say he was Lebron before Lebron because it's 100% accurate.  People that only saw Grant post injury would never believe this. Spot on Big Dog assessment.

great comparison!! hill was LeBron before LeBron & big dog dog was a less talented, less athletic version of Melo.

Terrible choke. The overall IQ of Purdue's players finally sunk the team. Waddell was also a stiff and should not have seen the court. Keady looks like George The Animal Steele.

Sweet. Then Purdue makes another stupid mistake. Missed 3 pointers and a collective low IQ = Duke win.
